Duo: playing as a pair
Duo is a match between two teams of two. Both teams have identical objectives and worlds. You and your teammate play together and share objective progress.
How the match works
Create a party in the mcladder menu and send your friend the invitation code. Once they join, choose Duo and start searching for a match.
You and your teammate share one world. The other team has a separate world, identical to yours block for block. Objectives and their requirements are the same for both teams. Every match uses Hard world difficulty. It cannot be changed.
Each player has one life. If one dies, the other can carry on and finish the remaining objectives. If both die, the team loses.
Shared progress and results
Both players work on the same objectives. Kills and mining progress add together. For Reach level 10, one player must reach level 10 themselves: two level 5 players do not make level 10. Requirements for several simultaneous effects must also be met by one player. The first team to complete all three objectives wins.
Agree on who does what
- Discuss the objectives before the start and decide who is responsible for each task. Divide the work so that you help each other.
- Keep each other informed about progress and changes of plan. This makes it easier to coordinate and avoid doing unnecessary work.
- Remember the risk: after one player dies, the other must carry on alone.
After the match
After the match, compare your results and statistics in your profiles. With mcladder+, open an available recording in the mod, follow both players' routes and discuss where the team lost time.
