RANKED OBJECTIVES
Ranked objectives
Three objectives are selected from the catalog for each match. The set and completion requirements are identical for both sides. The exact requirements for each objective are shown in the game.
What actually counts
Check the action, target and extra requirements. Similar objectives can count progress differently.
Have means keep in your inventory
For a standard Have 10 iron ingots objective, keep the required amount in your inventory. Spending the ingots or putting them in a chest before the match ends may reduce progress. In Duo, eligible items held by living teammates count.
Craft means produce the item
Finding an item in a chest does not complete a crafting objective. Standard objectives count the number of items crafted: crafting four planks once adds four planks of progress. Any specified crafting method or condition must also be met.
Mine means break the required block
An ore-mining objective counts eligible blocks broken. Fortune may increase your diamond drops, but one ore block still counts as one block. Placing and breaking your own block again does not replace mining natural resources.
Extra requirements are part of the objective
If the target is a baby chicken, an adult chicken does not count. If the Nether is specified, the action must happen there. Finding in a container, trading and having an item require different ways of obtaining it.
Any item from a group
For Have any music disc, items in the specified group count. The changing icon shows eligible options; it does not change the objective. The required amount and other conditions stay the same.
A shared goal is not always a sum
In Duo, teammates' kills and mining progress add together. For Reach level 10, however, one player must reach level 10 themselves: two level 5 players do not add up to level 10. The same rule applies when one player must have several effects at once.
Chat advancements and match objectives
Minecraft announces advancements in chat. That message alone does not mean an mcladder objective is complete. An advancement counts as a match objective when the corresponding objective appears in your list.
